Microchipping

Permanent Identification for Your Pet’s Safety

At All Creatures Veterinary Services, we strongly recommend microchipping as a safe, effective, and permanent way to identify your pet and increase the chances of a happy reunion if they ever become lost or separated from you.

What is a Microchip?

  • Tiny, electronic device the size of a grain of rice
  • Implanted beneath your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades
  • Contains a unique ID number that can be scanned by vets and shelters

How Does Microchipping Work?

When a lost pet is found and brought to a veterinary clinic or animal shelter, the first thing they do is scan the animal for a microchip. If a microchip is detected, the identification number is used to retrieve the owner’s contact information from a national pet recovery database. The pet owner can then be contacted and reunited with their lost companion.

It’s important to remember that a microchip is not a GPS device and cannot track your pet’s location. It’s simply a permanent form of identification that greatly improves the chances of a lost pet being returned to their loving family.

Contact All Creatures Veterinary Services to schedule your pet’s microchipping appointment and protect them with permanent identification.
