Dr. Amy Willis Dorminey , DVM
Dr. Amy Willis Dorminey is a 2006 cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Dorminey purchased and remodeled EAH in 2012. Before coming to Elberton, Dr. Dorminey owned and operated a small animal hospital in Toccoa, Ga. She also practiced mixed animal medicine in Claxton, Ga.
Dr. Dorminey’s special interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Dorminey is a member of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators. She is currently the Veterinary Technology Program Director at Ogeechee Technical College and serves on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Georgia Southern University.
In her free time, Dr. Dorminey enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband Jon and her daughter Eva. Dr. Dorminey’s family also includes a multitude of four-legged children, including 5 dogs and 4 cats.
Dr. Jennifer Iseler Jones – Veterinarian
Dr. Jones grew up in Springdale, Arkansas. She got her passion for animal care from her parents, who encouraged her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. After high school, Dr. Jones attended Auburn University in Alabama. In 2012, she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Following her time in Alabama, she moved to Georgia where she was a 2016 cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Jones met her husband in vet school and they got married after graduation. She practiced small animal medicine in Atlanta for two and a half years while living in Athens. She and her husband purchased property in Elberton at the beginning of 2018 and found themselves spending much of their free time in Elberton. Dr. Jones is excited to be able to live and work in the community she and her husband have come to love.
Dr. Jones and her husband currently have two dogs, a Shepherd/Beagle mix named Aiden (who has several nicknames) and a Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon named Tink. They also have an eight-year-old rabbit named Bunnjamin and several fish. Dr. Jones and her husband hope to have cattle, goats, and chickens in the future. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, hiking, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
We are so blessed to have her as part of our staff here at EAH!!! She is so sweet and really cares about all her patients and their families!!
Office Manager, Nichole Myrkle RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician)
Nichole Myrkle RVT grew up in the small town of Rincon Ga. She attended South Effingham High where she was accepted into the Governor’s Honors program for Fine Arts in 2000 and later graduated with honors in 2001. She has always had a love for large and small animals. In 2009, she decided to further her education at Ogeechee Technical College and graduated second in her class with National Honors in 2011 with an Associate’s in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.
Since then Nichole has worked in several private practices as a registered veterinary technician, as well as working as a manager and a consultant for veterinarians and practice managers. In addition to working in private practice, Nichole taught several Veterinary Technology courses at Ogeechee Technical College including Pharmacology, Clinical Pathology 2, Exotic Animal Medicine, Office Management, and Medical Terminology. While teaching at OTC, she also assisted in the Ultrasound and Surgery courses and tutored students several times a week.
Nichole joined the EAH team in the fall of 2018 and now lives just outside of Athens, Ga. with her 3 dogs Alpha, Moon, and Diesel. She loves spending time with her son, Logan. In her spare time, she loves to go coon hunting, spending time outside, traveling, and drawing/painting.

Brittany Hendrix – Account & Payroll Specialist
Brittany Hendrix is originally from South Georgia. In May of 2012, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University. She began working at Elberton Animal hospital in September of 2012. Brittany and her husband live in Anderson, South Carolina. They have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 chickens. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hunting, fishing, and shopping.
Sydney Vickery – Receptionist
Sydney has been working at Elberton Animal Hospital since October 2016. Sydney is not only our main receptionist but she is also crossed trained as a tech assistant. She graduated from Elbert County Comprehensive High School In 2015. Sydney has lived in Elberton Georgia all of her life. She has two dogs, Deuce and Crowe and also has 11 goats. During her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends and go to the lake.
Sydney is very attentive to all her clients and patients and really goes the extra mile every time. We are so thankful to have her as part of our team!!!
Michelle Medellin – Kennel Assistant
Michelle has been working with Elberton Animal Hospital since June 2018. She graduated from Elbert County Comprehensive High School in May 2018. She is attending college to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. In her free time, she enjoys going out with her friends and family. Michelle is also being crossed trained to work in the reception area and assist the doctors in the rooms with patients. Michelle is so sweet and loves helping our clients and their fur babies!!
Josie Jones – Veterinary Assistant
Josie is an Elbert County native and joined the EAH team in February 2020. While her chief ambition is to save all the dogs, she has been working in the pet care industry since 2001. Josie completed a Veterinary Assistant program in 2002, before graduating from Athens Technical College as a Master Cosmetologist in 2014. She has worked in private practice clinics, boarding and grooming, an open-intake shelter, and as a rescue kennel manager. In March of 2017, she helped co-found a local nonprofit animal rescue, Granite Country Animal Partners, focusing on at-risk animals of Elbert County. She also volunteers as an adoption consultant with a New York City-based Rescue. Josie’s experience in rescue, kennel management, and veterinary care offers a unique perspective in caring for your pets.
In her spare time, Josie spends time with her husband, Kevin, and children Kara and Conner as well as friends or family. They enjoy traveling, boating, and other various outdoor activities and spend most winter weekends at youth or high school wrestling tournaments. They live in Elberton with their rescue pets, 2 pit bulls, a hospice chihuahua and cat.
